EXCELLENTVerified Great experience!! In August of 2024, I had the privilege of being on safari in Tanzania with Elisante as one of our drivers. though he clearly could have been guiding the trip. He has an extensive knowledge of the animals and region which he freely shares with everyone. He has a very pleasant and happy personality. He was very easy to work with and clearly puts our needs as a priority doing everything he could to make every aspect of our trip as easy and fun as possible. He definitely knows how to speak to hippos and make them want to come your way for a closer look. I hope that it says something that even over the passage of a year, I am willing to write a review of my time in Tanzania and the people who made the trip so special.In a nutshell, your guide has a significant impact on your overall experience. The highlights of the trip are seeing the animals up close, taking in the spectacular views, and interacting with the locals, but these experiences are much enhanced with a quality guide. I am happy to report that Elisante and his team meet that bar. Elisante was familiar with the terrain and spots that the animals frequent. He knew where to stop or slow down for opportunistic photos. Lastly, he managed to make us feel at ease when meeting new people on our journey.I think it is worth mentioning some of the overlooked aspects of his service. He would que in line on our behalf while we rested. The Landrover was cleaned and taken care of constantly; this is a tall order when traveling in an open car with dirt roads. And he had the patience and grace to handle more demanding guests. I know it breaks the cadence of three examples in writing, but i feel compelled to tell one more tid bit. On our way to the Serengeti, the window was smashed by a stray rock kicked up by another vehicle. No one was hurt, but Elisante was calm and collected and patched the window on the spot.Thank you for making it this far. It was absolutely an incredible trip with them! The communication with the team was smooth and easy, making the whole planning process a breeze. The trip itself exceeded all expectations. Also, and I didn’t realize this until I was on my trip itself, they plan solo tours, so you never have to worry about being stuck with strangers or having to adjust your schedule to fit other people’s agendas. Philo was an absolutely joy to work with throughout the process. She kept in constant communication with me via WhatsApp and went above and beyond in helping me book the trip and accompanying flights. When I accidentally booked the wrong domestic flight with a domestic Tanzania airline and was not able to pay for my rebooked flights or get any help via email to rebook and make payment, she personally went to their office and booked and paid for my flight, for me to repay later. When I wanted to add on an extra few days in Zanzibar and wanted to change my agenda to spend a night in Stone Town, she booked me into a very unique boutique hotel in the heart of the old town which made sightseeing a breeze. Throughout my trip, there were multiple times where Philo accompanied my driver/guide or personally picked me up or dropped me off at the airport. And finally, upon my return from Zanzibar and before my flight to return home on a long international flight, she arranged for me to spend the rest of my downtime in a beautiful resort so I could get cleaned up and rest before a a full day and a half of air travel. My guide, Eli, was very patient and kind and attentive. And I really appreciated all of his knowledge with the animals on safari. I lost count of all of the lions we saw! And he even spotted the elusive black rhino in the Ngorongoro Crater! He was very flexible with our schedule when my balloon safari wasn’t able to take flight on the original scheduled day, but I was able to go the next day. This was a trip of a lifetime for me, and I am super thankful to Eli, African Savannah Trekkers, and especially Philo for making sure that I had the best time.Verified Best 3 days Safari Our three-day itinerary was perfectly crafted to showcase the best of Tanzania. Our tour guide, Elisante, from African Savannah Trekkers was absolutely amazing! He picked us up from the air strip and was with us for the entirety of the tour. He was so very knowledgeable about all the animals and surroundings that it really enriched the safari experience. He was also very flexible and accommodating for alternate routes we needed to take due to rain or other vehicles malfunctioning. Elisante also made sure we got the best angles and views for our pictures of the animals and the safari surrounding areas. He even took us to a shopping center and reminded us to bargain.
